Extended Producer Responsibility Training (EPR) - in French only

April 29, 2014 from 9am to 12pm, in Montreal

The Conseil patronal de l’environnement du Québec (CPEQ) is offering an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) training session which  will take place on April 29, 2014 from 9am to 12pm in Montréal (in French only).

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a form of policy that extends the obligations of a producer regarding the upstream life cycle of consumer products.

In the province of Quebec, the Regulation took effect July 14, 2011.  It assigns to companies the responsibility to manage the end of life processes for their products once they have reached the market.  At the moment, products regulated by the Regulation include electronics, batteries, mercury containing lamps, paints and their containers, oils, coolants, antifreeze, their filters and containers and other similar products.

This training session aims to allow participants to:

- Integrate the concept of Extended Producer Responsibility into their businesses,

- Understand obligations set forth by the Regulation respecting the recovery and reclamation of products by enterprises,

- Understand the function of recognised organisms,

- Answer questions related to the interpretation of the Regulation.

This training session targets manufacturers, producers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, owners or users of obligated companies’ brands (first suppliers of obligated products marketed in Quebec).
